Pat Robertson doesn't bother to take his foot out of his mouth before he puts the other one in.

Now he's calling professors "termites" and "killers."
Here's a link to Crooks and Liars where you can read his comments and link to the video.

Crooks and Liars highlights the "killer" appellative.  I find the "termite" epithet most offensive.

The Nazi's compared the Jews to insects to dehumanize them and prepare the way for their persecution.

It is disgusting for anyone who calls themself a Christian to refer to human beings as insects.  

Robertson owes all college professors an apology.

Tried and true language (none / 0)
Resorting to the language of the Nazis is a tried and true way to villianize anyone. Just insert the people you hate into the boilerplate hate speech, and presto! people will believe you.

We should highlight these tactics wherever we see them.

There's a lot here to comment on.  I think the "termites" and "killers" references others are going to spend enough time on...

I wanted to comment on a couple of significantly hypocritical quotes that I found interesting:

"TERRI: It's interesting that so many conservatives haven't seen this because decades ago we were told that infiltrating education was the way to take over the country, we should have been on alert."

Ummm... isn't the Religious Right trying to destroy our current public school system and replace it with Christian education?  Not to mention taking over the country...

"...and they are propagandists of the first order and they don't want anybody else except them. That's why Regent University for example is so terrifically important and why we're setting up an undergraduate program that hopefully will see shortly 10,000 students, and then from there 250,000 because you don't want your child to be brainwashed by these radicals, you just don't want it to happen. ..."

Not touching the propaganda comment - and don't you love the inserted promo for Regent U... but brainwashed?  I love it - how to totally reframe the debate... Learning to think for yourself is "brainwashing"...
