He is explicitly anti-dominionist and will have none of the historical revisionism of David Barton et al. Indeed, his theology -- which has a rich heritage in biblical orthodoxy -- holds that you submit to civil authorities, no matter who they are, and as such rebellion/revolution is sin. He argues America, by rebelling against Great Britain was conceived in "sin." This puts an arrow through the heart of Christian Nationalism.
Indeed Christian Nationalist Brannon Howse of Worldview Weekend calls MacArthur's position "nuts." Critics like Howse argue that while MacArthur knows theology he doesn't know history or politics. Well Dr. Gregg Frazer who teaches politics and history at the college where MacArthur is president knows those areas better than most of MacArthur's critics.
