YouTube To Showcase Video From American Family Association, Says Wildmon
The AFA has long pushed the bounds of acceptability but during the Obama Administration the $14 million dollar a year ministry has gone over the edge. In Spring of 2009, the AFA promoted Bryan Fischer to head its daily radio program who, as covered by Kyle Mantyla of People For The American Way, has over the past year on the AFA radio show,
YouTube has told us that if we can get 20,000 people to watch the video, they will feature it on their front page. That means that the tens of millions of people who visit YouTube's website each day will be offered the opportunity to watch the video - a video with a Christian message! The Youtube video now shows over 60,000 views, so if Wildmon is correct his American Family Association will get a whopping advertising boost as "tens of millions" are exposed to a soft-pedaled introduction to the AFA's brand of hate-speech, a music video commissioned by the AFA featuring musician Eric Horner. Horner's "In God We Trust" music video is loaded with such memes as this; as a husband and wife embrace, Horner sings, "there are those in this world who have taken a pledge to destroy what the Father has raised." Accompanied by video footage of a happy white heterosexual family seated at the dinner table, it's a clear suggestion that evil hordes beset what the AFA presents as a normative, wholesome America increasingly under siege. Over and over Horner croons out "He's the author of our liberty. Together we stand, united as one, on the Rock of Ages, as our fathers have done" - That's a softcore allusion to Christian nationalist historical revisionism which claims America was originally founded as a Christian nation.
