The Pennsylvania Senate Education Committee passed a school voucher bill that could go to the state Senate for a vote as early as today. Beginning in April of this year, I wrote a series of articles about the use of school vouchers as a strategy for dismantling public education, and the role of the Betsy DeVos-led organization American Federation for Children in this well-funded political effort.  Talk2action co-founder Bruce Wilson and I produced a video documenting the teaching of creationism and attacks on Catholicism in the textbook series used by private schools already receiving corporate tax credit funding (EITC) in Pennsylvania.  If the controversial SB-1 passes, the public funding to private and parochial schools, including those in the video, will be dramatically increased. SB-1 would initiate a voucher program and expand EITC from $75 million to $125 million over the next three years.
Links to previous articles on the money and organizations behind school vouchers and corporate tax credit programs and the video follow.

dramatically underscores the point that Religious Right political and policy success are not limited to advancing their anti-abortion agenda in the states.

I was shocked to see among the 22 on the downside of the Senate vote my own Senator Greenleaf. Pleased but shocked. Nothing that he has ever done or said seems to predict this, but I am happy to interpret this as progress. Vouchers like charter schools' funding is nothing less than a witholding of funds  our public schools need badly.

Scrap the earlier (by 3 days, no less!) possibility that Senator  Greenleaf's 'no' vote on vouchers might mean progress, for today's Inquirer makes it probably a fluke. He's also a flake! All across the top of the B Section [Philadelphia Inquirer, B1; Nov. 1, 2011] is GREENLEAF FILES FOR N.H. PRIMARY BALLOT. This non-candidate candidate joins a list of flakes in the Republican lineup, many from the fringe who have been there before.  It costs only $1,000 to file, so why not? A good publicity stunt!

Nevertheless, his vote against vouchers must be appreciated.

The Pennsylvania Senate Education Committee approved a school coupon bill that could go to the national Senate for a vote. You may make my assignment is a convincing way for pupils. In April of this year, my friend wrote some articles about the usage of school vouchers as an approach for disassembling public education, and the part of the Betsy DeVos-led organization American Federation for Children in this radical struggle.

Undoubtedly, some of these private schools are excellent, but a review of the Louisiana list shows that most prestigious and recognized schools are not interested in taking many or any vouchers. I tried for essay pro review Some schools lack the majority of students. physical objects and act "on faith" that they will be able to cope with the increase in the number of students.

The Pennsylvania Senate Education Committee's passage of the SB-1 school voucher bill marks a concerning development in the well-funded political effort to dismantle public education.  engagement rings As documented in previous articles and videos, private schools receiving corporate tax credit funding have already displayed alarming teaching practices. If SB-1 passes, these schools and others will receive a dramatic increase in public funding. It is crucial to examine the motivations and organizations behind this push for vouchers and corporate tax credits.
