Almost 1.4 Million Pledge To Vote For Jesus as Write-In Presidential Candidate in 2012 Election

As of October 18, 2012, when I reported in my story Graham's Romney Endorsement Accidentally Spreads "Mormonism is a cult" Meme to Millions - about superstar evangelist Billy Graham's disastrous effort to woo Protestant evangelical voters to vote for Mormon Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in the 2012 election, I was unaware that the meme might, by then, already have spread to over a million disgruntled evangelicals who had reportedly pledged to vent their anti-Mormon (and anti-Obama) ire at the ballot box this November 6th.
Candidate "A" is clearly a tool of Satan. But candidate "B" is a tool of Satan too and, if elected president, he'll suspend the Constitution and implement a theocracy to be run by his satanically-inspired cult.

"Stop!", cries out evangelist Bill Keller, founder of the Internet ministry liveprayer.com; "CHRISTIANS MUST TAKE A STAND AND SAY "NO" TO SATAN THIS NOVEMBER!!!", he declares, "Vote for Jesus!"

Keller means it. His website http://www.votingforjesus.com/ claims to have received well over one million pledges from voters who say that they will, on November 6, 2012, cast their votes for the write-in candidacy of Jesus Christ for president of the United States.

It's rather reminiscent of the song Christ For President, lyrics written by folk music icon Woody Guthrie and set to music, years after his death, by Jeff Tweedy and Jay Bennett of Wilco:

Let's have Christ our President
Let us have him for our king
Cast your vote for the Carpenter
That you call the Nazarene

The only way we can ever beat
These crooked politician men
Is to run the money changers out of the temple
Put the Carpenter in

While Guthrie's and Keller's interpretations of Christ seem to inhabit very different spots on the political spectrum, Bill Keller has nonetheless managed to put Christ for President on the 2012 political map and his website is racking up pledges at an astonishing rate.

As of August 18, 2012, 320,000 had pledged on Keller's website to vote for Jesus, reported the religion news site TheGodDiscussion.com. Now, little more than two months later, evangelist Bill Keller's www.votingforjesus.com website boasts 1.375 million pledges, and counting.

More pledges flood in at the rate, during Eastern U.S. daytime hours at least, of almost 1,000 per hour. Keller's army of Jesus write-in voters might top out at somewhere between 1.5 million and 2 million pledges - so the effort could, in theory at least, lock up roughly one percent of all eligible American voters.

What's so bad about Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, that between 1.5 and 2 million Christians might vote (or pledge to do so, at least) for Jesus as a write-in candidate ? Bill Keller explains,

"If President Obama is re-elected, his anti-American, socialist policies will continue, as will his attacks on Christianity and Christian churches. He will continue to support abortion, homosexuality, the enemies of Israel. How can a true follower of Christ vote in good conscience for a man who has proven to be a true enemy of God and His Word and will continue to be so in his next term?

If Mitt Romney is elected, he will be the fulfillment of his cult's polygamist, pedophile, racist, con artist, murdering founder Joseph Smith's "White Horse" prophecy that Romney and all Mormon's believe. That prophecy says that the United States will facing great economic and social unrest, a Mormon will be elected President, declare a national emergency and set aside the US Constitution and enact a Mormon theocracy."

After I signed up on Keller's pledge list. I received the following confirmation email:

"PLAN OF ACTION! HOW YOU CAN HELP GET OUT THE VOTE FOR JESUS!!!

Please share the http://votingforjesus.com website with everyone in your email address book.

"Share" the website on your Facebook page and ask all of your friends on Facebook to do the same.

"Tweet" the page to your Twitter followers and ask your followers to re-tweet it to theirs.

Share the website with your pastor, those in your church, as well as with everyone in any Bible studies or ministries you are with.

Post the website on every message board and chatroom you frequent.

Seek the Lord and ask Him how you can get the word out to as many people as possible.

You will be getting special emails every few weeks to help aid you in sharing this critical information out to the masses!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller"

If only 10% of the people making that pledge followed up on it, it could possibly swing a close election.

The fixers and kingmakers are saying, "vote Romney", but that messaging goes against decades of attacks vilifying the LDS Church. What are people to think? They have been cultivating suspicion of authority for decades, and now that cultivated suspicion feeds conspiracy theories about impinging Mormon theocracy -- regardless of, or in spite of, blandishment from Billy Graham and the BGEA.

Recently, I saw a video of Fischer taking a call from a discontent. The caller was complaining about Romney's lack of belief in the Trinity and the Mormon's ranking of Jesus as being closer to an arch-angel. Fischer told the caller that he would not try to convince him or anyone else to vote against his conscience.

That such a theological statement was made, by an ordinary caller, does indicate animosity amongst the natives but, in my opinion, it will not amount to much in the actual outcome of the election.

Resentment towards Obama has sunken to the level of mass psychosis and it outweighs the repugnance they feel towards Romney.

While this IS a rather serious topic, at the same time I found it quite hilarious.

Many of these same people are birthers.  My response to them is "Hey, stupid!  Jesus isn't an American - he's from Israel!  He can't be President!"

With all of the bad news I keep encountering, a laugh now and then are needed - especially a big one.

(I might add that they probably would be quite upset if Jesus somehow DID come back and became president!)

Given that the alleged region of Jesus's purported birth was at the time a part of the Roman Empire, shouldn't he be considered as either Italian or Palestinian?

Well, that Vote for Jesus web site has been down for days now. Who knows what's going on, but each time I access the Google cache, the number of pledges goes down. It was near 1.4 million, then last time below 1.1 million. I'm sure the GOP doesn't like the thought of 2 million evangelicals actually turning up and not voting for Mittens.
