A number of posts over the past year have addressed the growing Neo-Confederate movement, the advocacy of nullification of federal laws, and even the secession of states from the union.  Below is an anthology of about 30 posts -- a list that we will continue to update from time-to-time. -- FC

The man who was the attorney for the anti-abortion forces in Buffalo, NY is now on faculty at Regents Law School, Pat Robertson's enclave of wishful thinking. The attorney's specialty is nullification - that is a huge subject area at Regents, and he's in the thick of it. His presentations in court were to find precedent then declare, over and over, "Well - THAT is clearly wrong!" He, a Harvard Law School grad apparently decided any given individual can reject laws he or she does not like and do so with impunity. All we could conclude is that SOMEONE had to graduate at the bottom of the class. The move toward legitimating nullification has long historical precedent, and it the result is all about the abject failure of that legal theory. One has to abandon the entire notion of America as a society were it true, and nothing other than the Confederate secession ever came of it. The movement toward that same principle is doomed to equal failure again.

I wish to h##l the south would secede!  Then we would be rid of them, and Bank of america and Coca Cola as well! Along with Florida.  Why don't we just let them go their own way. Then we could get along with just being a country.  I suggested once or twice that the USA was too large, maybe split into five or six different nations,  I think that was rather wise of me.
But it won't happen until peak oil and peak fracking are done with.

Only a small number want to succeed. So don't be so small minded as to forget the larger number who want to stay in the Union.
