Michael Peroutka's Theocratic Ditty for the Kiddies

Michael Peroutka, who ran for president in 2004 on the Constitution Party ticket, is also a singer-songwriter who's planning to release a CD of tunes. He recently toured Michigan high schools and colleges to promote his Christian Reconstructionist vision of how people should "abolish" government and "rebuild it again" in a way that conforms with his theocratic views.

At one supporter's home, Peroutka grabbed his guitar and belted out this ditty for the kids, including boys wearing flannel shirts and suspenders over blue jeans:

Bringin' the American view
There is a God, He gave us our rights and He gave us civil government, too
I'm prayin' the American view, I'm sayin' the American view
Securing rights is what governments do in the genuine American view
Singin' the American view
There is a God, our rights come from Him; He is the author of the Law
He created government to secure those rights for us all
But when civil government gets all twisted and bent
the people have a duty to do -
Abolish it and then rebuild it again in a way that is righteous and true

Peroutka's National Development Director, Jake McMillian MacAuley, accompanied him on the Michigan school tour and helped make the video and post it on the IOTC's Facebook page. The IOTC's April 29 Facebook post, datelined Bay City, Michigan, states:

If you wonder what we do in between events, here is a great example. We stopped at Cal Zastrow and family while touring through Michigan and had a chance to unwind and make some music. Enjoy...
*this is only a clip because the CD is coming soon...

Peroutka and MacAulay pretended to set up "American Clubs" at Michigan high schools and at Calvin College -- although the schools deny approving the formation of any such clubs.

Peroutka, a multi-millionaire who co-founded the theocratic Institute on the Constitution (IOTC), and who briefly joined the board of the Neo-Confederate League of the South in 2013, is running for office in Maryland. He's campaigning for the Anne Arundel County Council as well as a seat on the Republican Central Committee. And GOP leaders had considered drafting him as their 2014 candidate for Attorney General. But his ambitions are nationwide, and he draws on the support of activists with whom he networked when he was campaigning for president on the country's largest third party ticket.

Stay tuned for more theocratic doggerel set to music by a man with means to build an audience no matter how bad his politics or taste.

I don't think it's gonna make the Top 40. And Pete Seeger he is NOT, LOL. Still dangerous. There are far too many like him.

A cd of that? 52 seconds was enough. Well, more than enough.

I am appalled by the anti-government rhetoric I hear on my local christian radio station. They call the government poisonous (although some are actually a part of it) yet I have the opposite reaction: THEY are what's poisonous.
