Northwest Arkansas, A Hotbed for Anti-Semitism

Three organizations in Northwest Arkansas are deeply interwoven into the most rabid Anti-Semitic teachings in the nation.  Gerald Smith, buried at the base of the statue of Jesus of the Ozarks, founded the Passion Play in Eureka Springs.  Smith ran for President under the platform of "We got to do something about the Jews."  Harrison, Arkansas is the headquarters for a Christian Identity group who teaches Jews are really descendants of Satan copulating with Eve in the garden.
Add a third group to the mix.   Shepherd's Chapel is on channel 224 on my cable.  Recently deceased Arnold Murray is the founder of the Bible study that is piped across the nation.  His son, Dennis, has now taken the reins from his dad and is continuing the Bible study that  reaches millions of followers.
Murray's program, started up three decades ago.  Today it has a growing popularity and is broadcast in every major city in the nation, except for New York City.  I took note of the programming and did some investigating into the popular broadcast.  Checking with local citizens and church members I found most are aware of the  show that features an older gentleman answering viewer questions and explaining Bible passages.  Our cable has the family on for almost 24 hours a day.
I checked out the Southern Poverty Law Center who ran some reports about research into the popular organization.  The SPLC claims Christian Identity ministers signed the minister license affirming Murray for the ministry.  Soldiers of the Cross is a radical right wing group linked to this dogma.  Soldiers of the Cross were branded as White Supremacists, but have since accepted non-white members.  Their anti- Jewish message is still active.
Murray gained national attention by a couple of controversial You Tube publications.  One clip has Murray claiming Obama is the Anti-Christ which made MSNBC news.  The older Murray said in the tape if you play the Obama acceptance speech backward it proves the President is the evil satanic leader of the end of the world.   The other clip made Jon Stewart's Daily Show when the Bible teacher pulled a gun on an audience member and yelled "blasphemer."  Just exactly how he stays on the air with his strange doctrinal proclamations is of interest.  The organization spends over $75,000 a month to keep the family on the airwaves.
Christian doctrine groups, like Watchman Fellowship, have been monitoring the programming for years.  Watchman notes the church teaching is full of false doctrine.  The secretive Murrays do not disclose much but what has come out is controversial.  The group does not believe in the Christian doctrine of the Trinity.  Watchman says they teach humans existed before the earth existed.  There were two Adams.  The first Adam created inferior races.  Interracial dating is thus forbidden.  The group also adheres to Christianity Identity dogma that teaches the British Israel theory.  This is the concept that Anglo Saxons are part of the lost tribes of Israel.  Thus the real chosen people.  Modern day Jews are not really Jewish, but imposters.  They are named, "Kenites."  As mentioned, they are the seed of Satan and thus a subhuman being.  This is what is being taught by the largest Independent "Christian" TV network in the nation.
Just today a national candidate proposed that Hillary Clinton was linked with International Bankers in a secret conspiracy to harm the nation.  The terms "International Bankers" is known in many circles as an euphemism for Jewish bankers.  It is an old fable about secret societies that control economies.  That term is mild in comparison to the idea that Jews are not sharing a common ancestry with the human race.  It is peculiar the father- son team has acquired such a following and one wonders at where the money comes from to underwrite such teachings.  Many of us thought the Christian Identity movement was a thing of the past relegated to a small group of extremists.  Timothy McVeigh visited one of their compounds.  To think that this popular program has risen to such  heights is noteworthy.  Do followers of this popular series really know what these men hold as the truth?  One might wonder if many of TV  ministry followers are aware of what is believed or practiced by the personality. To think that a widely popular TV Christian program is linked to Christian Identity is noteworthy.

I know Harrison is a hotbed of the KKK and neo-confederates, but didn't know about the Smith character. It's funny, but Eureka Springs is a real study in contrasts. It is the most LGBT friendly city in the state, and full of pretty liberal folk. They have one of only two UU churches in the state. But then there are the extremist Xtians... Arkansas. Why do I live here?????

The Unitarians do not accept Trinitarian doctrine, yet they are Christian.  Other groups do not accept that doctrine as well.  Not accepting the divinity of Christ does not make one NOT Christian, no matter what they think or teach.  (I admire the Unitarians because of their distaste for proselytizing and trying to convert people.  They also don't have the vicious reputation that many Trinitarian-believing groups do.)

I have my suspicions about Watchman - I know I've encountered them before, and if my memory is correct, they were referenced often in the Assemblies back when I was a member (I remember them being referenced about different groups, but it's been years since I was in a more mainstream, much less fundamentalist church).  Any time more focus is spent on "right believing" rather than how people treat others and trying to follow the teachings of the person they CLAIM to be disciples of, it becomes questionable to extremely doubtful in my mind.  "Do unto others" is central to almost all of the world's religions and it can be argued underlies the teachings of the Rabbi Yeshua (along with non-violent resistance to Empire).

We have our share of those types found in Arkansas (Christian Identity/anti-Semites) here too, but they seem to be keeping a low profile.  There is a group of them (Christian Identity types) not far from here that I hear about now and then and have encountered, but they haven't made it on the SPLC list (they 'aren't friendly' to people of African descent either).  However, there is a very strong Klan presence within two miles of our house (infecting the whole region), and the last time I looked, that wasn't mentioned on the SPLC map as well.  Maybe it's because they're all trying to fly under the radar.  The thing is, people like that are all over the place.  There seems to be hotbeds of such beliefs (such as this county and that part of Arkansas) and that thinking is being exported around the country and the world.

BTW-
That teaching about Jews being descended from the "Devil" would also explain why sometimes kids in this hellhole think and have even asked Jewish kids if they had their horns removed, or something like that (a question I've heard or read about from more than one Jewish source).

Not accepting the divinity of Christ does not make one NOT Christian, no matter what groups like Watchman think or teach.

I recall, speaking of doctrine, that in Branson the town was filled with Mormon singers who sang gospel hymns and bashed separation of church and state.
