I have been politically active and watched the campaign.  Videos, for instance, of the shenanigans in Nevada are available, uncut and unedited.  It was painfully obvious throughout the campaign that the elites did NOT want Bernie Sanders as the Democrat candidate.  You see, I've seen this before.  The Florida elites forced candidates on us that we didn't want - and look at the hell Florida has been turned into (for the poor and working people) and the jackass we have in the governor's mansion.  I listened to them when Scott won - and actually believed the elite BS and felt some (false) hope.  Never again.

I nearly stopped volunteering for the Democrats once Hillary had been nominated, even though I was terrified of the people who the Republicans put forth.  I know Trump's kind - I had flashbacks to the "Big Men on Campus" in High School (when I heard about his bragging and the video), who were the worst bullies in the school (they also had a reputation for being real ladies' men, and I witnessed several girls who'd made the mistake of dating them - crying out their pain and shame on their friends' shoulders, while the BMOCs bragged about RAPING THEM).  IMO, no matter what Trump says, he's always worse than his words.  He fits the pattern, even to his denials and claims that "it was locker room talk".  Yeah, it was - and I remember only too well how the girls they bragged about were after the weekend they described in gory detail.  (Those girls often turned vicious towards the boys who DIDN'T do that sort of stuff - as I also remember only too well - and only the "jocks" {BMOC's} ever talked like that.)

Many times the Democrat establishment tried to get me to be a "Hillary Supporter" - I sometimes made them mad because I told them the truth, I would NEVER support her and was volunteering because I was trying to keep Trump (and like ilk) out of office - I opposed Trump, but refused to say "I'm with her!".  I'm sick of the status quo and would like to see better - to have a real life.

I hoped for the best, but had bad feelings going into the voting booth.  My worst fears were realized.

You see, Hillary Clinton represented "More Of The Same!" - the status quo.   Now, I'd rather have the status quo than what Trump and the Republicans REALLY stand for (the very thing we fight against - theocracy and forcing their Christianity and themselves on everyone else). People have been conditioned to give churches a pass when it comes to  violating laws and doing evil - "But it's a CHURCH, it can't be THAT BAD!" (I am so sick of hearing that, although it's been a year or so now since I last got it).  I KNOW that the local churches were actively promoting "Get out the vote!", knowing full well that people were sick of the status quo and thinking that Christians were automatically the "Good Guys" (and non-Christians and liberal Christians were automatically suspect).  That's almost a recipe against anyone representing the status quo.

The people like me who were disgusted with having Hillary forced on us, well, some didn't show up and vote.  They were too sick and pissed off at the betrayal by the heads of the Democratic party and tired of the "same old same old".  She was NOT an agent for change and just about everyone knew it.

BTW... if anyone tries to claim that churches weren't electioneering, well, don't buy any bridges.  I saw the "Get out the VOTE!" attempts whenever I left the house, and for instance the dominionist churches I pass on the way to school had Republican signs all along their property line - almost as if they'd used a transit to place them very carefully.  I had to go to school on election day, and they also had people out standing by the road holding Trump signs and yelling at people.  They've done that every election!  (One of them is even a polling station.)

My wife and I are scared - she's afraid for the people in her synagogue as well (and for religious, sexual, and racial minorities in general).  We hear and read of things that never make the news (some crosses the radar of the SPLC, but nowhere near all of it).  We just hope that my comments on T2A (death threats and harassment drove me from other venues) don't end up with us getting bullets through our windows, "mysterious fires", or our kitties being poisoned.

It is those 100 million estimated voters who didn't vote for either, who left off the presidential choices and filled in for those other races. I am sure there is more, but I must say things looked so strange I actually thought of the word "supernatural" it just seemed to defy all the odds. I knew that wasn't the answer. Still how could they vote for someone like Trump with his very heavy baggage of racism, sexism and of course lying. How?
