Alternate economy medical treatment

Dogemperor wrote several times about the alternate economy structure that dominionists have built.  Well, it's actually made the news.  Pretty good article, although it doesn't get into how bad people could be (have been) treated by those so-called "medical doctors".  I'd like to have seen a lot more about that.
NPR had the article: about "Pastoral Medicine" - medicine based on the Bible instead of science.  It's a pretty good read... pretty much exposes the problem although not in terms of dominionist theology OR how dominionists have been setting up their alternate economy (and why - partially to protect abusers and partially to maintain control/the status quo).

I'm glad this has come out.  I shuddered when I read about their concern about "Chronic Illnesses"... since I've lived with health issues since I was a kid.  I know all too well the dismissive and abusive attitudes that can be hidden behind "Bible-based" medical care.  If they don't believe in something (such as Fibromyalgia Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multi-Chemical allergies, and many other chronic illnesses or conditions), they tend to blame the sufferer and rail at them about sins and even (in some cases) "opening the door to demons!".  Indeed, they will refuse to treat those things that they don't "believe in" and are actually quite belittling towards the people who live with them - to the point of committing malpractice and/or harming their patients.

Yeah, that's been our experience... for me, over 40 years worth, including doctors refusing to give medicines because of their religious beliefs about chronic health problems!  (I won't get into the details, but I won't ever go to another "Good Christian" doctor - the treatment we got because of their religious ideology was that bad!)

I'm glad the doctor we have now (1) isn't one of those "Good Christians" and doesn't push his religion, (2) actually reads the medical journals and does his research (and accepts science), and (3) LISTENS to us.  It's so rare in these parts that people we tell about him are shocked and delighted for us - and some want to know his name and where his office is.

People need to hear about this stuff, and I think it's slowly getting in front of people.  Maybe someday (I hope soon enough to stop this country from being destroyed) people will wake up and realize, "Yes, it's a church, and YES, a church can be THAT EVIL!"

What we then go to mysticism and demon possession. If you are ill, malformed, injured it is your fault because of your lack of proper and "pure" faith etc will be the unreasoning. Or you will be called a "shirker" and "want to be poor, sick, unemployed, etc." As opposed to real disease, out-of-your-hands economic conditions, born into hard times etc as being facile "excuses" instead of harsh realities.

Religion should be useful to people. The medicine should be independent, is a science
and must treat patients. Religion and medicine should benefit humanity. Dental Clinic

Yes it's a very big thing to discuss all about and it says everything very well on it. The alternate medical treatment gives good kind of help to the people who are suffering with illness. I was suppose to write my assignment on this subject and your post given me good ideas.
