Another Reconstructionist/Dominionist Distinction |
Gary North's article on " Neoconservatism vs. Christian Reconstruction" in the current issue of the Chalcedon Foundation's Faith For All of Life Magazine, suggests another distinction that might be made between Reconstructionists and Dominionists.
North distinguishes Neoconservatism from Reconstructionism by its support for Israel. Neoconservatives have been strong advocates for wars in the middle east which would bolster the security of Israel. Reconstructionists have no concern for the security of the nation of Israel. |
Dominionists, on the other hand, whose eschatology is pre-millennial and in which the modern state of Israel plays a major role, have sided with the neo-conservatives.
This suggests the need for further discussion of the influence of neo-conservatism on Dominionism. I'll try to post a story on that later this week.
