A November Charisma Magazine article is titled the "Rising Tide of Influence: How Pentecostalism is gradually changing the dynamics of American Politics."  But most of the leaders in the article are not traditional Pentecostals - they are apostles and prophets of the New Apostolic Reformation. The NAR is one of the current forces behind the radicalization of the Religious Right, and in turn, U.S. politics. NAR leaders teach a dualistic worldview in which all other religions and philosophies, including secular democracy, are considered controlled by demonic entities in a cosmic battle with Christianity.  They are leaders on social issues, like fighting abortion and gay rights, but they also emphasize a mandate to take "dominion" over all of the "Seven Mountains" or cultural power centers - arts, business, education, family, government, media, and religion.

The late Rousas Rushdoony, father of Christian Reconstructionism wrote the tome and laid the foundations for infusing Dominion Theology into American politics, but it is Charismatic Dominionists who have had the greater success in drawing millions of followers in the U.S. and worldwide.  Following is a brief introduction to a few of the leading apostles and prophets, including video links.

[Additional links and videos will be added periodically!]

C. Peter Wagner

Wagner was the Convening Apostles of the International Coalition of Apostles (ICA), Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders, Wagner Leadership Institute, and other New Apostolic Reformation entities. Now an octogenarian, Wagner has passed many of his leadership positions to other apostles.

Wagner explains the meaning of "dominion."

In the video below, Wagner and other apostles take part in a 2008 "apostolic alignment" ceremony for Todd Bentley, during a faith-healing revival in Lakeland, Florida that drew participants from all over the world in the summer of 2008.

Clip from Wagner teaching series on "spiritual mapping" and "Strategic Level Spiritual Warfare" - Wagner describes Japan as cursed because the emperor had sex with a demon.

Wagner lectures on the size and growth of the New Apostolic Reformation for the Wagner Leadership Institute.

Wagner, Os Hillman, and Myles Monroe explains the Kingdom Economic Yearly Summit, an annual event focused on the Kingdom wealth and the great wealth transfer from the ungodly to the godly.

Ed Silvoso
Silvoso, Wagner, and Cindy Jacobs, Harold Caballeros and others were the original pioneers of "spiritual mapping" and other Strategic Level Spiritual Warfare (SLSW) practices. Silvoso heads the International Transformation Network (ITN) and is on the current Apostolic Council of the ICA. ITN's website is now called Transform our World. [First photo at right is Silvoso and former Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona of Hawaii, a long time participant in ITN's efforts to transform Hawaii. Cindy Jacobs

Jacobs is a leading prophetess, member of the International Coalition of Apostles, and authority over the U.S. Reformation Prayer Network. The NAR has interconnected "prayer warrior" networks in all 50 states.

Lou Engle

Engle co-founded TheCall with Che Ahn.  Engle leads these events held around the world and is based at Mike Bickle's International House of Prayer (IHOP). Rick Perry's prayer rally was patterned after The Call and organized by The Call and IHOP leaders. Engle and Bickle have both been members of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders.  Engle was in the documentary movie Jesus Camp with New Apostolic leader Becky Fischer, both of whom are part of Che Ahn's apostolic network.

The Call San Diego in 2008 in support of Proposition Eight, segment closes with Engle calling for martyrs from the stage.

Engle and Bickle lead TheCall Jerusalem, which corresponded with the Global Day of Prayer in 2008 and was in support of Messianic networks in Israel and conversion of Jews.

Dutch Sheets

Dutch Sheets was C. Peter Wagner's personal pastor after Wagner left Ted Haggard's New Life Church.  Sheets is the apostolic authority over the U.S. Alliance for Reformation prayer network.  He has recently endorsed Newt Gingrich and become a member of Gingrich's national Faith Coalition Leaders. [The photo at right is Dutch Sheets with Apostle John Benefiel and Sen. Sam Brownback at TheCall Nashville on 7/07/07.]

Dutch Sheets says even though they won't be able to rule all of the earth until Jesus' return, they should try.

Mike Bickle

Bickle heads the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City, a model for IHOPs around the globe, many connected to live streaming of the KC IHOP. Bickle headed a controversial ministry in the 1980s and 1990s referred to as the Kansas City Prophets and was a member of the original Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders He led part of Gov. Rick Perry's prayer event in Houston on August 6, 2011.

Chuck Pierce

Pierce is inheriting C. Peter Wagner's Global Harvest Ministries and he also leads the apostolic network called Global Spheres with the assistance of Wagner.

Lance Wallnau

Wallnau is on the Apostolic Council of the ICA and is a lead spokesperson for the Seven Mountains mandate.

Che Ahn

Ahn has an international apostolic network and now leads the Wagner Leadership Institute.

Che Ahn introduces Stacey Campbell at the 2008 "alignment ceremony" of Todd Bentley.

Ahn claims that the president of South Korea is a "marketplace apostle" on the government mountain.

Rick Joyner

Rick Joyner is founder of MorningStar Ministries, a major prophet in the movement, and the co-founder with Samuel Rodriguez of a religio-political organization called the Oak Initiative.

The Oak Initiative and it's affiliate Transformation Michigan were sponsors of TheCall Detroit on 11/11/11.

Rick Joyner (with Janet Porter and Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William Boykin of the Oak Initiative) warns audience in April 2011 to wait about choosing a GOP candidate, explains that campaign behind the scenes was formed prior to Reagan candidacy in 1980.

Samuel Rodriguez

Rodriguez has been a member of the International Coalition of Apostles, a co-founder and Vice President of The Oak Initiative, and president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. (He resigned from the Oak Initiative last year following an exposé on the Oak Initiative's activities.)  Rodriguez and the NHCLC are partners in the United in Purpose multi-million dollar effort to register conservative evangelical voters. Rodriguez and other NHCLC leaders (some who answer to Cindy Jacobs as their apostolic authority) lead events drawing Hispanic communities into NAR activities.

(Below) Rodriguez in United in Purpose video "One Nation Under God," used for church and house parties to get out the vote for 2012.

Harry Jackson, Jr.

Jackson is on the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders.  Jackson and Samuel Rodriguez (above) are leaders of the Affordable Power Alliance (APA), an affiliate of the Congress on Racial Equality.  Decades ago CORE was a prestigious civil rights organization, but today CORE and APA promote global warming denial and fight the EPA and environmental regulation.

(Below) The "Gathering of Eagles" in January 2012 was hosted by Cindy Jacobs and the Family Research Council to kick off the election year.  Jackson begins by declaring the taking down of the "Queen of Heaven" in Maryland. The apostles claim that this "demonic principality" blocks Roman Catholics from being evangelized and oppresses humans with other vices.

Don Finto

Finto provides "apostolic oversight" for many Messianic Jewish leaders and is a leader in initiatives to support Messianic communities and convert Jews in order to hasten the End Times.

Mary Glazier

Glazier has been part of the  Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders and is credited with bringing apostolic prayer networks to Alaska. She has stated that Sarah Palin belonged to her apostolic prayer network since the age of 24.  Glazier continued to announce prophecies about Palin and mentor her through the 2008 election.

Transcript of Mary Glazier's claims about Sarah Palin.

Bill Hamon

Hamon has his own international apostolic network and has been part of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders.  Hamon was part of the Latter Rain movement of the 1950s that predates the NAR and teaches Manifest Sons of God theology as seen in the quote below about the "mankind race." [Hamon below right with former Colombian president Alvaro Uribe.]

"The Third and Final Apostolic Reformation began with the Saints Movement.  It is transitioning the Church into demonstrating and implementing the Gospel of the Kingdom for disciplining the nations and bringing transformation to the seven world kingdoms, which are being illustrated as the 'seven mountains' of business, education, government, media, family, religion, and entertainment.

...Christ's Third Church Reformation and purpose to fulfill God's original mandate to subdue all things, to take dominion and fill the earth with a mankind race in God's own image and likeness..."

...God is preparing His Church to become an invincible, unstoppable, unconquerable, overcoming Army of the Lord that subdues everything under Christ's feet.

...God's great end-time army is being prepared to execute God's written Judgments with Christ's victory and divine judgment decrees that have already been established in heaven.  The time is set when they will be administered and executed on earth through God's saintly army.  All that is destined and needed will be activated during God's restorational Army of the Lord Movement."

Bill Hamon 2010 prophecies for the U.S.

Ken Malone

Although Malone is not as well known nationally as the other apostles listed above, he was the Florida apostle leading the now infamous Katherine Harris conference call during her campaign for the U.S. Senate in 2006 in which she called for the conversion of  her Jewish brothers and sisters.

Additional apostles and videos will be added to the list periodically.
More quotes by the apostles on Dominionism can be accessed at and see the original Seven Mountains video.

You said,

But most of the leaders in the article are not traditional Pentecostals - they are apostles and prophets of the New Apostolic Reformation.

However, this group wants to define itself as traditional or "classical" Pentecostals (or as charismatics) for multiple reasons.  One reason that I experienced first hand when I joined an NAR church that I thought was "classical" Pentecostal is that people like me, bread and butter pew-sitter/tither would never have considered joining otherwise.

But more importantly they seek to transform Pentecostalism and charismaticism, if not Christianity as a whole into its image.  Anyone who doesn't go along is not "Christian."  The absolute barrage of Christianized rhetoric targeted to the Christian community alone is overwhelming.  And in large measure they are succeeding.  People and groups who even 10 years ago would have questioned events like "The Response" or wouldn't have supported NAR-backed candidates view them as the only "Christian" alternatives.  I've noticed in the 8 years that I've been out how much has gone mainstream without question.  Part of it is due to the experience of groups like my former group who were (rightly) denounced as aberrent or outright cults... their takeaway and their message was... you have to have a slick PR image and gradually inculcate both insiders and the public at large until extremism is no longer viewed as extreme but normative.  Boil the frog slowly.

The thing I noticed when I was actively in the ex-cult movement is that walkaways who remained Christians were in a position to speak truth to power extremely effectively.  Not that others couldn't, but I noticed that those who were perceived as "fellow Christians" viewed as "above reproach" other than their walking away couldn't be demonized so easily by leadership.  There are a few of us here at T2A and active elsewhere on the Internet.  But now even we are being demonized as non-Christians, not just by movement leaders like I was used to dealing with but rank and file who aren't necessarily even in their churches.  I saw this coming then (see Wagner's book on the "Religious Spirit"--the guy who is responsible for my leaving wrote a chapter BTW) but it's here in a big way now.

I'm getting ready to submit some relevant works for publication but now with the current level of elevated rhetoric I expect I may get some pushback even in my current "normal" church where this stuff is slowly but gradually creeping in.  But so be it.  I can't submit and I must continue to speak out.

They are working to mainstream their ideas throughout the Charismatic/Pentecostal sector and throughout the larger evangelical world.  And they will if other evangelical leaders don't speak up!

by Rachel Tabachnick on Wed Feb 29, 2012 at 05:35:07 PM EST

Rachel, you might want to also check out John Kelly.  Quite a big name in the movement.  Has a large focus on the "Business Mountain" part of it and holds "Power to Get Wealth" seminars as well as leadership conferences all over the world.  He was the big leader in the NAR church I was part of with many men "under" his apostolic authority.
Thanks so much for all you have done to reveal the motives that people would have never realized on their own.  I was part of a very little church but all of this stuff was taught.  It is true what they say and what they think.  They believe it with their own hearts and minds and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

by Former NAR on Wed Feb 29, 2012 at 03:46:45 PM EST
Thanks!  I most certainly should have included Kelly.  He has also taken over as head of the International Coalition of Apostles from Wagner.

Kelly is not as publicly visible as some of the others, but is and important figure in the movement.

by Rachel Tabachnick on Wed Feb 29, 2012 at 05:29:53 PM EST

I think, as a conservative Eastern Orthodox Christian, I'll stick with the original Twelve Apostles.  These people are sick, if not actually possessed by demons.
God help the USA if they get a real foothold.  I'm happty being a 'minority religion' as long as they leave me alone. But if the NAR and their ilk get going, they would probably burn my icons and my crucifix, and do other nasty things.  I might even get a gun to fight them off if I get angry enough.
